A court decision rarely satisfies both sides. If you believe the court got it wrong, the law lets you appeal to a higher instance. The key is to act methodically — and on time.
Step 1. Identify the type of appeal
- an appeal — against a first-instance decision;
- a cassation appeal — against an appellate decision.
Step 2. Don't miss the deadlines
The time limits are restricted and counted from a specific event. Missing the deadline without good reason usually means losing the right to appeal.
Step 3. Prepare the complaint
- State which decision is being appealed.
- Explain the court's error.
- Formulate the request.
- Attach evidence supporting the position.
Step 4. Pay the court fee
Where grounds exist, you may request a deferral, instalments, or exemption.
